1. Who we are

This policy explains how the NavShield navigation service — the mobile apps, the website and the servers they use — processes personal data. The data controller is the NavShield team. For any question about your data, write to support@navshield.app.

We follow Ukrainian data protection law and, for users in the EU, the GDPR.

2. In short

  • You can use NavShield without registering and without giving your name or phone number.
  • We process only the data needed to run the service, keep it stable and make it better.
  • Some data is collected only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising or tracking.

3. What data we process

  • Account data: a technical user identifier; if you choose to sign in with Apple, Google or e-mail, also the e-mail address that sign-in method provides.
  • Location and service requests: start and destination, search queries and other information needed to find an address and build a route.
  • Trip data — with consent: movement information and device sensor readings that help us improve navigation, especially when the GPS signal is unreliable.
  • Usage and diagnostics: how app features are used, device information and crash reports.
  • Technical data: IP address and server logs needed for security.

Saved places and trip history are stored only on your device by default.

4. Why we use it

To provide navigation and search; to keep the service running, secure and stable; to analyse and improve navigation quality; to answer your requests; and to comply with the law. Depending on the purpose, we rely on performing our terms of use, our legitimate interest, or your consent.

5. Where data is stored

Data is stored on the cloud infrastructure of reliable providers, mainly in the European Union. Some provider services may process data in other countries with appropriate safeguards.

6. How long we keep it

No longer than needed for the purposes above or required by law. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.

7. Who we share it with

Only with providers that help us run the service (hosting, authentication, analytics and diagnostics), and only as much as needed. We may disclose data when the law requires it. We may publish anonymised aggregate statistics.

8. Your rights

You can learn what data we process about you, get a copy, correct or delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw consent. You can delete your data and change consents in the app settings or by writing to support@navshield.app. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted connections and restricted access. No protection is absolute; please report possible vulnerabilities to us.

10. Children

NavShield is not intended for children and does not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will announce material changes in the app or on this page.
