Terms of Use
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of the NavShield navigation service: the mobile apps, the website and the server features. The service is provided by the NavShield team. By installing or using NavShield, you agree to these terms. How we process data is described in the Privacy Policy.
2. Early access
NavShield is currently available as early access (beta). Features may change, behave unreliably or be temporarily removed, and data in test builds may be reset. We may limit the number of participants and end the beta at any time. Your feedback helps us — thank you for it.
3. Road safety
- Follow the traffic rules, road signs, markings and instructions from authorised officials — they always take precedence over the app’s guidance.
- Don’t interact with your phone while driving; set up your route before you set off.
- Judge road conditions yourself: a route may lead through closed, dangerous or impassable sections.
- Don’t rely on NavShield as your only means of orientation where a mistake could endanger life.
4. Accuracy and limitations
NavShield estimates your position from satellite navigation signals, phone sensors and the road map. Under jamming or spoofing, accuracy depends on many factors and is not guaranteed. The app shows its confidence in your position; if it doesn’t know where you are, it will tell you. Map data may be incomplete or out of date. We don’t guarantee that the service will run uninterrupted, error-free or in every location.
5. Your account
An anonymous account is created on first launch. If you sign in with Apple, Google or email, keep those accounts secure. You can delete your account and associated data at any time.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- interfere with the service, bypass limits, overload the servers or scrape data automatically;
- knowingly submit fake trip data or interference reports;
- decompile the app or use it in a way that breaks the law or infringes other people’s rights.
7. Map data
The map, search and routing are built on data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). You can fix map errors directly in OpenStreetMap.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its design, algorithms and the NavShield name belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a non-exclusive right to use the app for personal purposes in line with these terms and the app store rules.
9. Liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or for the consequences of decisions made based on the app’s guidance. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumers cannot be deprived of under applicable law.
10. Termination
You can stop using the service at any time by deleting your account and the app. We may restrict access if these terms are breached. We may update these terms and will announce significant changes in advance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine, unless mandatory rules of your country of residence provide otherwise.
